Foreword:

Freeview|HD is New Zealand's new Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) service which offers HDTV to New Zealand. The service is offered over the UHF frequencies and will require a working UHF aerial and DVB-T tuner card to receive. You can find a list of UHF transmission towers here courtesy of Lincrad.

MediaPortal can be run in 2 types of configuration; Standalone and Client/Server. This guide will cover both but is written from the perspective of a standalone configuration.
